Hyacinth Festival Pink

Hyacinth Festival 'pink'

The Multiflora Festival Pink, Hyacinthus orientalis, displays delicate rose pink florets and is wonderfully fragrant. Multiflora are much looser and more graceful than the traditional hyacinth, but with the same heavy perfume. Several flower stalks, rather than just one, emerge from each bulb and create a splendid display. The new strain flowers naturally form a single bulb rather than artificially treated as in the past.If used for indoors they should be grown under very cool conditions. Multiflora Festival Pink is ideal for naturalizing in the garden, and suitable for growing in containers. Flowers are good for drying and preserving. Hyacinths require a well-drained soil. If they must be planted in heavy soil, mix some sand into the soil. When planted in somewhat shady spots, the flowers will last longer than they would in the hot sun.
